Marlene Frieder Merzacco

Earned BA from Rosary Hill College including a Junior Year abroad at the University of Madrid, Spain (thank you, Miss LaDuca). Became a Junior High School Spanish teacher in Buffalo Schools. Married Louis Merzacco '64 in 1968 (38 years then divorced). Earned MEd in Bilingual Special Education at Buffalo State, National Board Certification in English as a New Language, then another MEd in Educational Administration at UB. I always have liked learning! Maybe that's why I choose teaching as a career. I also did a short stint as an Adjunct Professor at Fredonia College supervising graduate level student teachers.

I had a busy and fulfilling career in education but I love retirement, too! I am a substitute principal a few days a month to earn my travel money. I have just returned from visiting Machu Pichu and Lima, Peru. I've also been to London and Wales, Berlin, Netherlands, Alaska, the Mexican Riviera, on a Caribbean cruise and a Mediterranean cruise. Now, I'll plan my next adventure!
