It's always a shock to see that one our classmates has passed, but when you get the notice about an in memory addition and you see that it's for one of your best friends from childhood, wow! Ed and I became friends in Cub Scouts and stayed friends until lifes travels saw us go other directions. Fortunately we were able to reconnect several years ago and I feel blessed that we were able to do so. Ed was a great person with a heart of gold. As a teacher I know that he made a difference to those he taught. He was a fantastic husband and partner to Sue. He'll be missed!
Ed my friend, may you rest in peace!

I knew Ed in Scouts also. He was a good fellow - as was his Dad who was a Scout leader and a Marine in World War II. I remember hearing years ago that Ed had been wounded in Vietnam. I'm glad that I knew him.

To build on Steve's comments: Ed's Dad Served in WWII in the Marines and in the Korean War in the Army. Ed served in Viet Nam in the Army and was injured when he fell into a punji pit.

Paul you are spot on about Ed. Our last names made us homeroom mates nearly every year and he was a fine man, kind and gentle and I am so sorry to hear of his passing. We are losing too many of our good people and it breaks my heart.

I did not know Ed Solomon, so I looked him up in our yearbook. His picture is not there and he is not listed. Did I miss something?
I am sorry he died, and I send good wishes to his family and friends. Losses are hard, so I wish you all good strength through your grieving.

I knew Ed from elementary school through high school. He was a kind, gentle soul and a joy to be around. He has touched so many lives in so many different ways and all who knew him were the better for knowing him.

I too knew Ed from elementary school thru high school. I then had the opportunity to spend time with him at the 50th reunion. What a great Guy!
